BACKGROUND

In 1994, The MathWorks approached Dr. Sidman to provide MATLAB training courses directly to its customers, and he has continued that effort to the present day.   Since then, he has been a Third Party Provider and MATLAB PARTNER.   He authored an invited MATLAB NEWS & NOTES feature article, Control Design Made Faster and More Effective in 1994.   In 1995, Dr. Sidman was worldwide Alpha Test Site #2 for MATLAB 5, and he continues to provide feedback to the MathWorks to enhance the capabilities of future products.   Dr. Sidman's MATLAB training courses have been attended by many hundreds of design engineers and researchers spanning mechanical, electrical, software, chemical and control systems engineering, as well as MathWorks personnel.   In 1998, The MathWorks asked Dr. Sidman to develop and present a series of Storage Seminars in California and Colorado featuring his MATLAB-based products that were attended by over 350 engineers and managers.   He has also provided numerous magazine endorsements of various MathWorks products over the years.

Dr. Sidman has been performing serious simulation and analysis of dynamic systems and products since 1983.   While a Digital Equipment Corporation Resident at Stanford,  he encouraged Integrated Systems to develop its first workstation version of MATRIXX and SYSTEMBUILD.  He is also familiar with Boeing's EASY5,  System Control Technology's CTRL-C, MIT's MACSYMA, Waterloo's MAPLE, Mitchell and Gauthier's ACSL and other analysis and simulation languages and packages.
